Siliguri is located at the base of the Himalaya Mountains in the grasslands. It is the largest city in the area of North Bengal and the second biggest city in West Bengal state. It connects the hill station towns of Gangtok, Kurseong Kalimpong, and Mirik with the break of India. The Mahananda River flows older Siliguri.
